The 9.-11. September I have been participating in OR50 – The UK OR Society’s 50’th conference in York. The conference was held at the University of York’s beautiful lakeside campus. I gave a talk in the agricultural stream about ‘Optimal replacement policies for dairy cows based on daily yield measurements’.
Research
A new working paper “Time-adaptive versus history-adaptive strategies for multicriterion routing in stochastic time-dependent networks” have been published.
The paper “The Bicriterion Multi Modal Assignment Problem: Introduction, Analysis, and Experimental Results” have been accepted for publication in INFORMS Journal on Computing and is now avaliable online.
July 14-18, 2008 I participated in IBC – the XXIVth International Biometric Conference in Dublin. Here I presented a poster “Embedding a State Space Model into a Markov Decision Process”. Afterwards I spend a few days enjoying Dublin.
The paper “An algorithm for ranking assignments using reoptimization” are now available online at C&OR.
The last days 5-9 November I have been visiting Professor Anders Ringgaard Kristensen at KU Life. We have been working on a package in R “MDP” which will provide tools for solving Markov decision processes and their extension multi-level hirarchic Markov decision processes. The package will be based on a solver made by Anders in Java.
The paper “Bicriterion shortest paths in stochastic time-dependent networks” have been accepted for publication in Lecture Notes in Economics and Mathematical Systems.
The paper “An algorithm for ranking assignments using reoptimization” have been accepted for publication in C&OR.
The last days I have been participating in a kick-off meeting for the Biosens II project. Using online measurements in milk models finding optimal times for treatment must be developed. The project will run over the next five years.
A new working paper ” A note on ‘Multicriteria adaptive paths in stochastic, time-varying networks’” have been published. See under publications.
